Lease and Learn > Customers > Customer or non-Customer

50% of schools have an existing lease agreement in place. In response to the question...

"Why wouldn't you consider leasing ICT products in the future?"

Responses included the following.
  • "Against county guidelines"
  • "Better value to buy"
  • "Funding arrangements with DfES for ICT no longer allow for leases"
  • " Other schools have ended up with a large debt and outdated equipment"
  • "ICT equipment needs constant upgrading and renewing"
These responses reflect buyer's actual experiences, concerns and knowledge of financing equipment. Somewhat worrying one could say!

However, by offering advice and financial input, for example:
  • Development of a "Total Cost of Ownership" business case
  • Explaining how to change out redundant equipment prior to the commencement of the lease agreement
And offering a financial product that is:
  • Cost effective
  • Simple to understand
  • Flexible, enabling you to retire redundant equipment and replace with the next generation of product
Leasing does form part of the decision making criteria when acquiring new equipment.
